Respect
for the environment is learnt in the practice.

Conscious
of its social responsibilities, Sobloco develops a wide program
of environmental education with the schools and community at large
in Bertioga, the town in which Riviera de São Lourenço
is being built.
The Sobloco Program of Environmental Education, established
in 1992, has already involved over 5,000 schoolchildren, as well
as teachers, parents and school directors. It develops in them
the creativity and initiative to introduce improvements and sustainable
systems, as well as adopting the habits and attitudes that conserve
the environment.
In addition to its work with the schools, Sobloco
maintains, by means of the 10 de Agosto Foundation, full welfare
support of the workers at Riviera and of the community in general.
As well as privileging Riviera with an exemplary infrastructure
that guarantees a total absence of any pollution of the beach
and sea, Sobloco develops other work fronts intended to conserve
the environment. For example, the Solid Waste Management Program,
regarded as one of the most successful in Brazil, and, three times,
a finalist in the Eco Award of the American Chamber of Commerce.
Because of all these measures, Riviera is considered to be a model
of urban occupation respecting the environment.
