Sobloco planned, projected and constructed the first Dangerous Cargoes Terminal in Brazil, situated less than 800m. from the largest oil refinery in the country, Refinaria do Planalto (REPLAN), in Paulínia - S.P., and responsible for processing 20% of petroleum derivatives.

Administered by CAT - Centrais de Apoio aos Transportes - a company established by Sobloco and by Socicam Terminais Rodoviários, the Dangerous Cargoes Terminal was constructed in order to remove trucks from the highway and to offer secure parking with an infrastructure of services for the drivers. The development also eliminates the irregular parking of trucks in the streets of Paulínia and on the State highway. Such parking represented great risk to the local community and to the environment, as it could cause accidents, fires, traffic jams, pollution of the environment and of the subsoil, and especially, contamination of the town’s water table.

By means of a sophisticated system of informatics and optic fiber connections with the distributors, the Terminal modernized the operation of the trucks with REPLAN and with the fuel distributors.

As well as its parking area fitted with the most modern safety equipment to combat leaks and fire, the Dangerous Cargoes Terminal of Paulinía also has a PATE (Service Post for Road Transport Employees) of SEST/SENAT where the driver can undergo medical/dental consultations, with an IPEM (Weights and Measures Institute) office, mechanical workshop, restaurant, changing rooms, brokers` services, barber, betting shop, games and TV room, soccer field, as well as fully equipped offices for rent.
