Since
it was created 42 years ago, Sobloco Construtora S.A.
has stood out as a company ahead of its time. With developments
notable for their daring, high technology and respect
for the environment, the company has created living
spaces that prioritize the quality of life.
The company started in the 1950s
and grew as a developer of apartment blocks, constructing
in the 60s and 70s over a hundred buildings. In 1979,
brazilian magazine Exame elected the company as the
best builder in Brazil.
Diversification meant the construction
of commercial buildings, factories, shopping malls,
and bus stations and in partnership with other companies,
operations in heavy civil construction projects.
With such wide and diverse experience,
Sobloco built up significant know-how, giving it the
capacity to be one of the most significant companies
in the area of urban development in Brazil. It has the
aptitude to plan, ensure the viability and to develop
large urban development projects, endowing them with
all the aspects needed to confer on their users the
best quality of life.
Amongst its most noted developments
in the area of urban development, feature Riviera de
São Lourenço in Bertioga with an area
of 9 million sq.m. and the Urbanizing Plan of Parque
Faber, in São Carlos - S.P., with an area of
2.1 million sq.m.
Underlining its behavior in
acting to reconcile development with ecological equilibrium,
Sobloco has been recognized nationally, and even internationally.
The Urbanizing Plan for Riviera de Sao Lourenco was
recognizes three times as a model of occupation - in
Vienna, Austria, 1989; Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1990;
and Punta del Este, 1992.
In 2000, the Parque Faber received
the Master Imobiliario Award, a prize devoted to real
estate excellence in Brazil, promoted by the Brazilian
Chapter of FIABCI - International Real Estate Federation
of Real Estate Professionals and by SECOVI - S.P., Sindicato
das Empresas da Compra, Venda, Locação
e Administração de Imóveis Residenciais
e Comerciais de São Paulo.
Such works bring Brazilian Urban
Development to the most exacting of international standards.
Because of his dynamic and business-like
direction, the C.E.O. of Sobloco, Engineer Luiz Carlos
Pereira de Almeida was elected to the world presidency
of FIABCI for the years 1993/1994, leaving as his legacy
to the organization innumerable conquests - of particular
note being the award of the Prix d`Excellence, the `Oscar`
of international real estate.
